If you have already been diagnosed and given a treatment plan at home, a second opinion lets a Korean specialist review that case independently — before you decide whether travelling for treatment makes sense at all.
It is the sensible first step for most patients. You do not commit to a flight, a visa or a hospital admission. You send your diagnosis and records, and a specialist at a Korean tertiary hospital reviews them and gives their assessment of the diagnosis and the proposed treatment pathway.
Sometimes the opinion confirms what your own doctor has said, and you continue treatment at home with more confidence. Sometimes it identifies a different option. Either outcome is useful, and you get it without leaving your country.
MEDIWIN holds formal patient-referral agreements with Samsung Medical Center, Asan Medical Center and Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, and coordinates the review with the relevant department at the relevant hospital.
This service is for patients living outside Korea who have a confirmed or suspected serious diagnosis — cancer, cardiovascular disease, a neurological or spinal condition, an organ transplant question, or a rare or undiagnosed condition.
It is particularly useful if:
— You have been told surgery is the only option and want that confirmed
— The recommended treatment is high-risk, and you want another specialist to look at it
— You have been told your case is inoperable or untreatable
— Your diagnosis is unclear after multiple tests
— You are considering treatment abroad but want a clinical view before committing
Please note: this service is not available to residents of Korea. It is provided for international patients only.
1. Submit the form below. Tell us the diagnosis, the country you are in, and how to reach you. Do not attach medical files here.
2. We send you a secure upload link. A MEDIWIN coordinator replies, normally within one business day, with a private link for your records — diagnosis, imaging, pathology and any current treatment plan. Never send medical records by ordinary email.
3. Translation and preparation. Your records are professionally translated and organised into the format the hospital requires for review.
4. Specialist review. The case is submitted to the relevant department. A physician at the hospital reviews the records and issues a written opinion. MEDIWIN does not write, alter or interpret that opinion — it is the hospital’s clinical document.
5. You receive the opinion in your language, with the option of a video consultation, and — if you decide to proceed — a treatment plan, cost estimate and expected length of stay in Korea.
Initial case assessment is free. MEDIWIN reviews what you send and tells you honestly whether a Korean specialist opinion is likely to add anything for your case. If it is not, we will say so.
A formal written second opinion from a hospital specialist involves a fee. That fee is set by the hospital, depends on the department and the complexity of the case, and is quoted to you in writing before anything proceeds. Nothing is charged until you agree to it. Medical fees are paid to the hospital; MEDIWIN does not collect medical fees on the hospital’s behalf.
Your medical data. Records are used solely to obtain the specialist opinion you have requested and are shared only with the treating hospital. They are transferred to Korea for that purpose, which requires your explicit consent — you give it on the form below and can withdraw it at any time by writing to mediwinkorea@gmail.com.

No. The whole point of this service is that the review happens on your records. You send your diagnosis, imaging and pathology; a specialist at a Korean hospital reviews them and issues a written opinion. Only if you then decide to pursue treatment does travel come into it.
Not through this form, and not by ordinary email. Submit the form with your case summary only. A MEDIWIN coordinator will reply with a private, secure upload link for the files. Ordinary email attachments are not encrypted and are not appropriate for medical records.
A physician at the hospital. MEDIWIN translates and submits your records and coordinates the process, but the clinical opinion is written by the hospital specialist and is the hospital’s document. MEDIWIN does not provide medical opinions and is not a medical provider.
The initial case assessment by MEDIWIN is free. A formal written opinion from a hospital specialist carries a fee set by the hospital, which depends on the department and the complexity of the case. You receive that figure in writing before anything proceeds, and nothing is charged until you agree.
That is a legitimate and useful outcome, and it happens often. You continue your treatment at home knowing an independent specialist at a major cancer centre reviewed the case and reached the same conclusion. We will tell you plainly if that is what the opinion says.
