MEDIWIN is a medical travel facilitator registered with the Korean government, and in 2024 we signed a formal patient-referral agreement with Asan Medical Center. That agreement is the reason we can submit a case directly to the hospital rather than telling you to email a general enquiry address and wait. MEDIWIN’s facilitator registration number is A-2022-01-01-4465, issued by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and valid to 29 June 2028 — you can ask any Korean agency for its number and check it.
This matters more than it sounds. Korea’s medical travel market has a real problem with unregistered brokers, and a tertiary university hospital does not sign a referral agreement with one. If an agency cannot tell you which hospitals it is contracted with, that is the answer to your question.
Cases we have coordinated at Asan Medical Center include liver cancer surgery, kidney transplantation and ear reconstruction. Asan is not a hospital you can walk into from abroad — every international case goes through a document review first, and that review has to be prepared properly.
Organ transplantation. In early 2025 Asan Medical Center became the first single institution in the world to perform 9,000 liver transplants. It carries out roughly 400 living-donor liver transplants a year and has passed 25,000 organ transplants overall. No other centre publishes numbers at this scale.

Volume. Asan is the largest hospital in Korea by bed count and case volume. For a complex operation, the number of times a team has done that specific procedure is one of the few things that reliably predicts outcome — and it is the reason patients cross borders for surgery at all.
None of this is a promise about your own case. Whether Asan can treat a particular patient is a decision only the hospital’s physicians make, after they have seen the records.
1. Сообщите нам диагноз. A short summary is enough to start — the disease, when it was diagnosed, what treatment has already been given, and which country you are in. Do not send medical records by ordinary email or through a chat window.
2. We send you a private secure link. A coordinator replies within one business day with a link for uploading records, imaging and pathology reports.
3. Translation and submission. MEDIWIN translates the documents into Korean and submits them to Asan Medical Center under our referral agreement. We do not write, edit or interpret any medical opinion — that is the hospital physician’s work.
4. The hospital answers. Asan reviews the case and confirms whether it can accept the patient, what it would propose, and the minimum length of stay. Acceptance is always the hospital’s decision, never ours.
5. Estimate, visa, travel. A written cost estimate is issued by the hospital. We handle the medical visa documentation, flights, accommodation and airport transfer.
6. Treatment and follow-up. Interpretation throughout the admission, and remote follow-up with the hospital after you return home.
Yes. Asan Medical Center runs an international healthcare service and treats patients from abroad. The practical obstacle is not permission — it is that the hospital reviews records in Korean, replies through a channel that is hard to reach from overseas, and cannot arrange your visa, travel or interpretation. That is the part MEDIWIN handles under its referral agreement.
You can, and for a simple health check-up that may be the fastest route. For a serious case it usually is not, because the hospital needs translated records in a specific format before it can give you an answer, and because a rejection at that stage often means the submission was incomplete rather than the case being untreatable. MEDIWIN adds no fee to your medical bill — patients pay the hospital directly.
A coordinator replies to your first enquiry within one business day. The hospital’s medical review takes longer and depends on the specialty and how complete the records are. We will tell you what is outstanding rather than leaving you waiting without explanation.
Only the hospital can answer that, and only after the medical review. Cost depends on the stage of disease, the procedure chosen, length of admission and whether complications arise. What we can promise is a written estimate from the hospital before you travel, rather than a number from a comparison website that has no contract with any Korean hospital.
No. MEDIWIN’s service is for patients travelling from abroad. If you already live in Korea, you can approach Asan Medical Center directly through its normal outpatient channels.
