Implant removal or replacement

Removal of implants, with or without new implants, as the surgeon recommends.

Fat grafting

Fat transfer to the breast, where the surgeon considers it suitable for you.

Pre-travel case review

Send your information for a preliminary review of whether an in-person consultation in Seoul may be appropriate.

Coordination in Seoul

Appointments, an interpreter if needed, accommodation near the clinic and help with follow-up visits.

What is capsular contracture?

After implant surgery, the body forms a thin capsule of scar tissue around the implant. In some people this capsule tightens and squeezes the implant, so the breast may feel firm and, in more severe cases, be painful or look distorted. This is one of the reasons people ask about implant revision.

Whether surgery is appropriate is determined individually after an examination, in consultation with the treating surgeon.

What you should know

  • Breast surgery has risks, including capsular contracture, implant rupture, infection, changes in sensation and the need for further surgery. Breast implants are not lifetime devices.
  • A rare lymphoma called BIA-ALCL is associated with breast implants. The risk is higher with textured-surface implants than with smooth-surface implants. Ask the surgeon which implant is proposed and why.
  • Fat grafting also has risks, including fat necrosis, calcification, infection, asymmetry and the possible need for additional procedures.
  • Revision surgery depends on your previous surgery and current condition. Not every case can be treated in one trip.
  • The surgeon decides when it is safe for you to fly home. Plan time for check-ups before you leave.
  • We do not show before-and-after photos or patient stories, and we do not guarantee results.
  • This service is for international patients living outside Korea, aged 18 or older.

Questions

Is MEDIWIN a clinic?
No. MEDIWIN is a foreign-patient facilitator registered with the Korean government (No. A-2022-01-01-4465). Surgery is performed and all medical decisions are made by the partner clinic.
Which clinic will I go to?
After the first review we tell you the clinic and the surgeon who will see you, so you can check them before deciding.
How much does it cost?
After reviewing your case, the clinic may provide a written cost estimate. Final cost is confirmed after the consultation and depends on the procedure, implant and your condition, so we do not publish one price.
Do I pay MEDIWIN?
You pay the clinic directly. MEDIWIN does not charge patients a separate coordination fee.
Should I send photos?
Not to MEDIWIN. If the surgeon needs photos, the clinic will give you its own secure channel.
Can you guarantee the result?
No. No one can guarantee the result of surgery. The surgeon will explain the expected outcome and the risks at the consultation.
