For cosmetic surgery and dermatology, international patients can research clinics and book appointments on their own. Serious and complex conditions do not work that way.
Cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurological and spinal conditions, organ transplant and rare disease cannot be managed at a small private clinic. They need a tertiary university hospital — multidisciplinary tumour boards, intensive care, advanced imaging and surgical teams that handle these cases every week.
But Korea’s leading university hospitals are difficult for an overseas patient to reach directly. Medical records must be translated and submitted in the format the hospital requires, the case has to be routed to the correct department and specialist, international appointments run through a separate channel, and a medical visa usually has to be arranged before travel.
This is the gap MEDIWIN exists to close. We are a Korean government-registered medical tourism facilitator, and we connect international patients with serious conditions to Korea’s major university hospitals — handling record submission, department matching, appointment booking, interpretation and visa documentation on your behalf.

MEDIWIN holds formal patient-referral agreements with Samsung Medical Center, Asan Medical Center and Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, and has referred international patients to them under those agreements. Alongside these tertiary centres we work with CHA Hospital, Gangnam JS Hospital and a wider network of specialist clinics.
This matters more than it may sound. Korea’s medical tourism market has a real problem with unregistered brokers, and a tertiary university hospital will not enter a referral agreement with one. MEDIWIN is registered with the Korean government as a medical tourism facilitator, registered with the Seoul Tourism Organization and listed by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute — and it is on that basis that these hospital agreements exist.
MEDIWIN is not a hospital and does not provide medical care. What we do is get your case in front of the right specialist at the right institution, and stay with you through the process. Every clinical decision is made by the treating physician, and whether a hospital accepts a case is always the hospital’s decision after its medical team has reviewed the records.

These are cases a private clinic cannot take on: reconstructive surgery after trauma or tumour resection, oncological surgery, solid organ transplant and blood cancer treatment. Each was routed to the relevant department at the relevant hospital, with MEDIWIN handling the records, scheduling, interpretation and visa process around it.

1. Tell us the diagnosis. Send a short summary of the condition, the country you would travel from, and your preferred language.
2. Send your records. Diagnosis, imaging, pathology and any current treatment plan. We translate and organise them for hospital review.
3. Hospital review. The case is submitted to the relevant department. The hospital confirms whether it can accept the case and what the treatment pathway would be.
4. Estimate and schedule. You receive a written cost estimate, a minimum length of stay, and proposed appointment dates.
5. Travel preparation. Medical visa documents, flights, accommodation and airport transfer.
6. Treatment and aftercare. Interpretation at every consultation, coordination during admission, and follow-up support once you are home.
Yes. MEDIWIN holds formal patient-referral agreements with Samsung Medical Center, Asan Medical Center and Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, and refers international patients to them under those agreements. Your case is submitted to the hospital’s international healthcare centre and the appointment is arranged on your behalf. Acceptance is still the hospital’s decision — the medical team reviews your records first and confirms whether it is a case they can treat. We tell you the outcome either way, and if one hospital cannot take the case we look at the alternatives.
A short summary of the diagnosis, the country you would be travelling from, and your medical records — imaging, pathology and any current treatment plan. Please do not send medical files through the website chat. Our team will give you a secure channel for them. We then translate and organise the records into the format the hospital requires for review.
We cannot give a figure before the hospital has reviewed your case, and we will not guess at one. Cost depends on the diagnosis, the stage, the treatment pathway the specialist recommends and the length of admission. What we can commit to is a written estimate issued by the hospital before you decide to travel, and no MEDIWIN fees added to your medical bill — you pay the hospital directly.
It depends entirely on the treatment. A second-opinion consultation may take only a few days. Surgery followed by recovery and post-operative review may take several weeks. The hospital provides a minimum length of stay together with the cost estimate, so you can plan flights, accommodation and time away from work before departure.
In many cases, yes. If you send your diagnosis and records, a Korean specialist can review them and provide an independent opinion. For patients who already have a treatment plan at home, this is often the sensible first step — it lets you decide whether travelling for treatment is worth it before committing to the trip.
